There are many songs that annoy me. Every country song, songs you hear ad nauseum on the radio, TV jingles, and countless more. But instead of ranting on and on, I’m going to focus on just one.
Today’s song is from supercell’s second album, Today Is a Beautiful Day. This is one of my favorite albums of all time, but it has two glaring flaws. First is Feel So Good, which is a half-assed ripoff of Jamiroquai’s Virtual Insanity. But even that I can deal with. The main problem is Yoru ga Akeru yo (Daybreak).
Sandwiched between two of my favorite songs on the album is one of the most boring songs I’ve ever heard, complemented by some repetitive Engrish lyrics. While it starts fine, it quickly transitions into one of the most annoying songs I’ve heard on an otherwise great album. It’s far from the worst song I’ve ever heard, but compared to every other song here, it’s a stain that the album would be better without. Long story short, I always skip it.
Counting sheep has never been so obnoxious.
