While humor in music has been around for ages, it’s never something I actively look for. So instead of songs that will leave you in stitches, these are more along the type that will make you smirk or let out a light chuckle. Or shake your head in disappointment and question my morality.
So, Avenged Sevenfold’s A Little Piece of Heaven. I’m not a big fan of the band, but this song has stuck in my head since the first time I heard it many years ago. And half of that is because of the music video.
As the warning at the beginning of the video states, this song has explicit lyrics, and the video has content inappropriate for children (think Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom + sex + plenty of other stuff). The video thumbnail itself is relatively gruesome, so just to be on the safe side, you can click here if you’re interested in watching the video.
Another example is a strange one. Unsurprisingly. While this is the only Tenguboy song I’ve heard, the artist will forever be burned into my brain for the strange presentation, strange lyrics, and strange… everything.
And lastly, Introducing… Count Swagula, courtesy of The Death Panels. I couldn’t even tell you how I originally found this band, but it doesn’t really require an explanation. It’s not on YouTube, but you can listen to it here, right from their Band Camp page. There’s swearing and stuff.
